PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Town of Patrick desired to make roadway and drainage improvements to Patrick Town Hall Road as well as meet ADA compliance requirements for an existing sidewalk.

CHALLENGES: The project required two SCDOT encroachment permits and a SCDHEC Notice of Intent for Land Disturbance for <1 acre.

RESPONSIBILITIES: J. Bragg Consulting prepared construction plans for improvements to Patrick Town Hall Road in Patrick, SC, a Chesterfield County Transportation Committee project, managed by the Pee Dee Regional COG. Patrick Town Hall Road involved paving and improving approximately 500 LF from SC 102 to S-357 (Douglas Street). The road was designed to provide two 9-ft travel lanes with improved shoulders, slopes, and swales. To improve drainage at SC 102, a pipe was installed under Patrick Town Hall Road, and an improved swale was designed to eliminate an area of standing water to allow it to drain to the cross-line pipe under SC 102. Sidewalk improvements were also included at the Town Hall entrance to meet ADA compliance. In addition, coordination with one property owner was performed for their driveway. Utility coordination was also provided; no utility relocations were required on this project.

The team prepared two SCDOT encroachment permits for each intersection as well as SCDHEC Notice of Intent for Land Disturbance for < 1 acre. Final construction plans and bid documents including project specifications were completed. After the project was let for construction, the team responded to general contractor inquiries along with providing CADD files for their use.
