DESCRIPTION: J. Bragg Consulting, as a subconsultant performed hydrology/hydraulic services for various Richland County Sidewalk projects. The County desired the construction of several sidewalks to improve pedestrian safety and to increase community accessibility. J. Bragg Consulting has assisted with the following projects:
- Longreen Parkway Sidewalk Project – 8,875 LF of sidewalk Longreen Parkway in Killian South Carolina. The sidewalk will provide improved access to two schools: Sandlapper Elementary School and Longleaf Middle School, and connection to existing sidewalks along Clemson Road.
- Percival Road – Richland County anticipates constructing a 5 ft wide concrete sidewalk on the west side of SC-12 (Percival Road) from SC-12 (Forest Drive) to S-1583 (Northshore Road) for a length of 7,305 LF.
- Greenhill Parrish Parkway – The Greenhill Parish Parkway Sidewalk Project will include constructing approximately 1,485 LF of 5’ concrete sidewalk on both sides of the parkway from Catawba Trail Elementary School to Upland Hill Lane.
- Spring Park Drive – Richland County anticipates constructing 5 ft wide concrete sidewalk on the east side of Spring Park Dr. from Longreen Parkway to Cogburn Rd. for an approximate length of 1,469 LF. Then on the west side of Spring Park Dr. from Cogburn Rd. to Hobart Way for an approximate length of 4,109 LF. The total estimated length of the project is approximately 5,578 LF.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Bragg Consulting conducted hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis, stormwater management system design and erosion and sediment control design in accordance with SCDOT guidelines. These systems consisted of roadside ditches closed stormwater pipe systems, culverts and outfalls.
H&H analysis of existing and proposed stormwater management systems was conducted utilizing the following software; USDA TR-55Small Watershed Hydrology, Geopak Drainage, HY-8, and FHWA Hydraulic Toolbox. Design services were provided by the team and included; closed pipe system design, ditch section design, and erosion and sediment control system design using Bentley MicroStation and Geopak. J. Bragg Consulting prepared a comprehensive stormwater report for Richland County which included production of an NOI, SWPPP, engineering report and detention waiver for MS4 stormwater and land disturbance permitting.
